Meg and Mitch are waiting to welcome a child into their heart and home through open adoption. Learn more about them!
On our very first date, we snuck out of our agriculture economics class to eat pumpkin ice cream on a fall day too beautiful for numbers and lectures. Somehow, we subconsciously knew that we were meant to start an adventure together. We laughed so naturally that day and somehow wound up talking about our common dreams of living in the country and raising kids in a big white farmhouse with a garden and green grass and sunshine.
In the 9 years since that day, we have dedicated our lives to building the foundations of those dreams. We have been renovating our farmhouse (right down to the white siding) and hoping for a child to join us. We’ve built a beautiful life together full of laughter and love (not to mention green grass, sunshine, and cuddly creatures). We are the kind of people who sing in the kitchen, admire the stars, and give our pets middle names. We believe first and foremost that we were all put on this earth to help each other. We may not be rich or famous or powerful, but we are kind people who work hard to make our little corner of the world a better place. We feel lucky have a wonderful tribe of family and friends who are waiting with us, arms open, to welcome our child into to the fold.
We know that everyone who writes an adoption profile is coming from a place of love, hope, and gratitude. In that regard, we are not different from or better than the many other couples whose profiles you may be reading. Like them, we have hoped for a child. Like them, we will love and care for a child. Like them, we are so grateful for the opportunity to start our family.
We are guessing that what will help you choose is a connection — an intangible feeling that the profile you’re reading is about the people who are meant to raise your baby. We know without a doubt that there are a mother and child we are meant to know.
Please know that in choosing us to raise your child, you are welcome to join our adventure, too. There are so many ways to make and be a family!
Mitch & Meg
We met in college after spotting each other across a classroom. In 2010, we got married and moved into our little farm. From day-to-day activities like cooking and taking care of our animals to big renovation projects and road trips, we try to approach our life together as an adventure. We can’t wait to share our love and laughter with a child!
Mitch (By Meg)
Mitch is as hardworking and honest as he is funny and kind. He’s great at building and fixing things and has done an amazing job renovating our little farm. He’s truly my best friend and partner in everything we do. When I see how gentle he is with our animals, how sweet he is with children, and the way he supports and helps our family and friends, he never ceases to amaze me. I know without a doubt that he will be a fantastic dad!

Meg (By Mitch)
From the first time I met Meg I knew she was the one for me. She is the most caring, big-hearted, and genuine person you will ever meet. The kindness she gives to everyone she meets is one of the many reasons I fell in love with her. I know she will be the best mother to a child and I am very excited for that day to come to see her hold a baby in her arms.

Our 3.5 acre farm is home to a variety of animals, from horses to cats, chickens to dogs, and even goats! Caring for the animals keeps us busy at times, but we enjoy keeping them healthy and comfortable. Their unique personalities warm our hearts and make us laugh every day. We are so excited to share our love of animals with our children someday. Animals can teach us so much about life, love, and peace, not to mention responsibility.
We bought our farm in the late fall of 2010. We cherish the memories we’ve made with our family and friends here! We both believe that home should be your safe haven. We’ve worked hard to remodel and improve our home to make it a comfortable place for our family. We hope our child will feel secure knowing that we made this home for them and that it will always be here for them to return to.
Mitch grew up outside of a small town with his parents, Tom & Jan, and his sisters, Rachel and Maggie. Mitch has always looked up to his parents, who are a shining example of marriage and family. His older sister, Rachel, drew the family portrait above. She and her husband, Mike, will be a fun aunt and uncle! Maggie, Mitch’s younger sister is preparing to move to New Zealand to be with her partner, Michael. We look forward to future vacations to visit them!
Meg grew up on a working farm with her parents, Alice and Steve, and her younger sister, Stephanie. Alice and Steve are living proof that determination makes dreams come true. They also love children and can’t wait to fill the role of Mimi and Papa! Stephanie and her husband, Justin are as smart and hardworking as they are goofy, which we know will make them an awesome aunt and uncle!
Our Extended Family
We have both spent our lives surrounded by the love and support of close-knit extended families. Each of them has shown us what family means. We’ve heard it takes a village to raise a child, and our village is ready! We are certain that seeing our loved ones welcome our child will be among the most joyous moments of our lives.
These beautiful people are as much our family as the people you se above. Our child will be so loved by these extra aunts, uncles, cousins, and even grandparents!
