Andy and Jayme are waiting to welcome a child into their heart and home through open adoption. Learn more about them!
Dear Birth Mom/Family,
Hi! We are Andy and Jayme, and we are very excited about the honor and privilege of becoming adoptive parents! We have felt called towards adoption throughout our entire relationship together. It has been something that God has laid upon our hearts for many years. When we first married, we had pictured our family with three birth-children and then adopting our fourth. After more than 10 years of marriage and having those three birth-children, we still see that picture, and still feel called to bring a child into our family through adoption. We want to provide a loving, supportive, and fun home to a child in need. We desire to provide an opportunity for a life that a child may not otherwise have.
As we continue to wait to be matched, the longing in our hearts for our future child only grows stronger. This is not an easy time for you as the expectant parent, and we want you to know that your child will be cared for and well-loved for the rest of their lives.
Our Story & How We Met
We both grew up on farms less than ten miles apart from each other in northwestern Wisconsin. We attended grade school and high school together in a class size of about 50 students. We developed a crush on each other in the 10th grade as we sat by each other in algebra class and shared bus seats to local Track & Field meets. Four years later, we were both enrolled at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and competed on the same collegiate Track & Field team. We were married prior to our final year of college, in 2008. After graduation, we moved to Wausau, Wisconsin, for our first major job opportunites. It was there we had our first child before moving north for new adventures. We have been coaching Track & Field together for 10 years now, and still enjoy competing together as well.
Andy works full-time as a Graphic & Web Designer for a publication company in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. He volunteers his time as an elder at our church, and as a movie projectionist at a local arts center. He is the head Track & Field coach at Three Lakes High School, which has seen an impressive revitalization following his arrival, including a state champion relay team.
For fun, Andy enjoys lifting weights, running and biking. He loves to watch movies across all decades and genres, and he’s a big fan of hip-hop music.
Jayme is mostly a stay-at-home mom, but also works part-time in aquatics at the YMCA. She is the head Volleyball coach and assistant Track & Field coach at Three Lakes High School. She volunteers her time as a race director for a half marathon, and as the program director for a local summer Track & Field club. She also teaches Sunday School at our church. Jayme continues to be an avid athlete. She is a competitive Pole Vaulter and Triathlete. So it’s no surprise that, for fun, Jayme enjoys being active. When she’s not playing outdoors, Jayme likes to paint and draw as well as play the guitar and piano.
We have three birth children: Baya, Myles, and Rowyn, who will soon be 7, 5, and 3! Baya loves arts and crafts, swimming, ice skating, and is a very good reader. Myles loves diggers, dinosaurs, swimming, biking, and building with Legos. Rowyn loves playing with cars, pretending to be a puppy, running, playing with/in water, and books. Baya is currently in first grade. Myles will join his big sister at school next year when he starts kindergarten in the fall of 2020.
Our Home & Community
We live just outside a city of about 7,500 people in the northwoods of Wisconsin. We shop, attend church, and visit the YMCA in that city. However, we spend most of our time in and around a smaller community of about 1,000 people. That small town is where Andy works, where our children attend school, and where we coach. We are very invested in that community and we enjoy its family feel. We are surrounded by woods, lakes and wildlife. We have lots of room to roam on our seven acres, which includes a lake for pedal boating and ice skating!
Andy is the oldest of two, with one younger sister. Both of his parents were high school teachers. They are both retired after more than 30 years at the same school district, but they still substitute teach and are very involved in their church and community. Andy’s sister works as the assistant director of operations at a university in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is married to a certified financial planner and lives in the Twin Cities. They enjoy traveling and hanging out with friends.
Jayme is the youngest of four, with one brother and two sisters. Her parents owned and operated a small dairy farm until their retirement a few years ago. Her parents sold their farm to Jayme’s oldest sister and her family, who maintain the farm now. Her oldest sibling, a brother, is a former Marine, and has three children. He currently operates a non-profit organization to assist veterans in transitioning out of military life. Jayme’s other sister is a cosmetologist and massage therapist. She and her husband, who works as a police officer, have two young boys. Jayme’s family continues to grow, providing lots of opportunity for playing with cousins.
We certainly enjoy traveling, but as our family has expanded, our trips have become less frequent. Some of our favorite vacations have been Costa Rica, The Bahamas, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Breckenridge, Orlando and Cozumel. During each of the last two years, we have managed to squeeze in a quick vacation to visit one of our best friends in Fort Myers, Florida. We have transitioned to smaller trips so that we can include the children in the fun. We have visited various indoor and outdoor water parks, traveled to Duluth/Superior to see lighthouses and cargo ships, and we have taken a ride on a vintage steam train. As the children get older, we will branch out into larger trips. We would like to start doing more camping and hiking trips around Wisconsin and the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.
We pray that you will consider us as adoptive parents for your child(ren). Our heart longs for the child that will join our family to help make our home complete. We excitedly wait with the hope of bringing your child into our family, to learn their unique personality and to shower them with love. Our home, our arms, and our hearts are ready. We also pray that you will find peace through this difficult time and can feel confident in choosing us.
