Holt-Sunny Ridge will host the Journey of Hope Adoptive Family Camp for adoptees and their parents this summer!
This three-day family camp is designed around the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)® parenting curriculum for domestic and international adoptees and their families. Even years after their adoption, some children may struggle with behavior regulation, attachment and social skills. With specialized assistance from TBRI practitioners, this camp will equip families with tools and strategies they can use to help their child learn self-regulation skills and deepen family attachment. Other activities include fun sensory games, art and four hours of EAGALA equine therapy!
When: Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28, 2020 | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Where: The Ranch of Hope Reins Equine Camp in Hampshire, IL
Cost: $200 per participant. (family of 3 is $600, family of 4 is $800)
If your child lives in a two-parent household, both parents must attend all three days of camp with your child and participate in three pre-camp zoom web calls.
Children will be paired with a buddy for camp, but we will also have family time for parents to practice what they are learning.
Participating children must be legally adopted, whether through international, domestic or foster care adoption. Please no non-adopted siblings at this time.
Children must be in your home for at least one year and be between the ages of 6 and 13.
Lodging, breakfast and dinner are not included in the price or arranged by Holt-Sunny Ridge. Lunch will be provided all three days for parents and children.
Family screening interviews will be held over the phone April 20-24, 2020. Families will receive notification of acceptance on April 29, 2020.
Applications are due by April 13, 2020. Spots are available for 12 children.
