IL Family | Andy & John

Andy and John are waiting to welcome a child into their heart and home through open adoption. Learn more about them!

Dear Birth Mother and Family,

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. Our names are Andy and John. We live in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago. Both of us have envisioned a life as parents and have valued it as a common goal since the beginning of our relationship. As a gay couple, we are unable to have our own biological children and feel that adoption is the best fit for us.  We find your decision for your child to be courageous and inspirational. We promise that if we are lucky enough to be selected to adopt your baby, he/she will grow up in a loving and stable environment.

Warm regards,

Andy and John

Dear Birth Parents,

Thank you for viewing our profile and for considering us as parents for your child.  We respect and admire your decision to make an adoption plan; it’s a selfless act that shows how much you care for your child.  Our goal with open adoption is to include you as much (or as little) as you would like – we want your child to know you and to appreciate the special bond an open adoption can provide.  Here’s a little bit about us; we hope this helps with your decision.  We’re excited to meet you and learn your story.

WI Family | Andy & Rachel

Andy and Rachel are waiting to welcome a child into their heart and home through open adoption. Learn more about them!

Dear Expectant Parent(s),

Thank you for making the loving choice to pursue an adoption plan for your unborn child. We understand it may not have been part of your life’s plan, nor an easy decision to come to. We commend you for your strength and bravery in this process.

Our hope is that you begin to get a better picture of what our family life looks like. Our names are Andy and Rachel, and we have a son named Ben. Being parents has been our greatest joy in life and we always hoped to welcome one more child into our family. Our hearts and our home are open and ready to move forward on the adoption journey. All of the opportunities we have been able to offer our son, we hope to also be able to offer to a future child as well. Our son loves his younger cousins and is excited to one day be a big brother. We value our time as a family, as well as time spent with both Andy’s and Rachel’s sides of the family.

We look forward to the possibility of meeting you and taking the next step in this journey together. As you look to make plans for yourself and your child, we hope you follow your heart and find peace with whatever you decide. From what we have learned, open adoption is a very unique and individual arrangement that we are committed to working on with you to achieve a comfort level we can all live with while providing what is best for the baby.

WI Family | Tina & Tom

UPDATE: Tom and Tina have been selected by a birth parent and are awaiting placement.

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us.  We are excited to be on our journey to adopting again.  While we haven’t met you yet, we respect you and the decision you are making for your child.  We hope that by reading through our profile, you will have a greater understanding of us and the life we would provide for your child.

We have always wanted children.  Faced with infertility, we chose adoption to build our family.  We believe growing our family through adoption is simply another option. Since Adeline joined our family, we knew we had more love in our hearts to give to another child.   Families are created out of love and that takes many forms. When we first learned about openness in adoption, we were hesitant about it, mostly unsure of what it meant exactly.  We have since come to realize the benefits of open adoption when people are coming together in the best interests of the child. At the same time, we understand the choice of openness is in your hands and we will respect your wishes.  Know that the door will always be open. Bonding with our children is important to us, especially in the first year. For that reason, Tina plans to take a year off work to stay home with our second child.
