Hello, we are Justin, Carly, and Lillian and we thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. We hope to have the chance to get to know you better as well. We are so excited to be adopting and bringing another child into our family! We hope our story will help you in making your choice. We believe in open adoptions and the importance of having and maintaining an open relationship. The more people who care and love the child will help in guiding them throughout their life.
Please know that no matter what you choose, we wish you and your child all the best. We hope this book gives you a glimpse about our family. To help you see how much love we have and share for each other, our family, and our future child. We look forward to meeting you.
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health concern in the United States. An estimated 40 million adults in the U.S., or 18%, have an anxiety disorder. Approximately 8% of children and teenagers experience the negative impact of an anxiety disorder at school and at home. Most people develop symptoms of anxiety disorders before age 21 and women are 60% more likely to be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder than men.
Just like with any mental health condition, people with depression or who are going through a depressive episode (also known as major or clinical depression) experience symptoms differently. But for most people, depression changes how they function day-to-day.
Every year, we get excited for November because it’s National Adoption Month — a month devoted to advocating for children who are waiting for permanent, loving families, and raising awareness about the continuing need for and issues surrounding adoption! We also take this month to celebrate adoption — showing how many people are connected to adoption in some way.

We want you to know that we think you are awesome! You are facing a monumental decision; and while we cannot possibly understand how difficult it must be, we also know it is a decision powered by love and care.
Our family is, likewise, fueled by deep compassion. We have always wanted to be parents, and adoption was always in our hearts, as many of our close relatives were adopted as infants.
